Bryn’s yoga class:
Amrit yoga, created by Yogi Amrit Desai is a holistic system of yoga that is designed to create stillness of the mind, inner strength, flexibility and integration of body, mind and spirit.
The class begins with a breathing exercise to activate prana or life-force, 26 postures are performed slowly with breath and inward focus and the class ends with a deep relaxation. The postures have a “yang aspect” where you hold the pose and breathe into sensation and a “yin” aspect where you are still, relaxed and feel the life energy flowing and integrating the body/mind. It teaches you how to move from doing to being.
This particular style of yoga practice is very powerful and useful both on the mat as well as off the mat because it teaches you how to accept whatever arises in your life without reacting to it. Beginners as well as advanced students are welcome to this class.

Yoga Nidra is a deep, sleep state in which you are
completely relaxed and calm yet fully aware at the
same time. Using conscious breath, visualization,
affirmation and mantra (sacred sound) you enter into
the deepest place of restful peace. When you enter
into this spacious realm of inner peace your own
true nature is revealed, a place of blissful
serenity where your reactions to life become
loosened and released and you become the silent
observer of your life without choosing right or
wrong, good or bad. The body-mind-emotions become
aligned and balanced and blockages are released. The
more you inhabit this space the easier it is to get
there, the longer you can stay there until you
essentially dwell in a place of peace and serenity.
Similar to the deepest state of meditation
completely Yoga Nidra is typically practiced lying
down although it can also be performed in a seated
position.
